Trunking Recorder Installation with DSDPlus
Trunking Recorder supports importing calls recorded by DSDPlus. Trunking Recorder can import calls from multiple instances of DSDPlus if they all share a common base DSDPlus directory.
Limitations
- Only supports MP3 format and not WAV format.
- DSDPlus currently doesn't include all call metadata so some fields in Trunking Recorder will be blank (System Label, Site Label, Voice Type, LCN).
- DSDPlus sends patch calls as just a normal group call sending only the main talkgroup information. Trunking Recorder will log it as a "Group" call instead of a "Patch".
- Trunking Recorder pulls some of the call metadata from the filename so do not manually rename the MP3 files or it will not get imported into Trunking Recorder.
To enable Trunking Recorder to import DSDPlus recordings
- Install and setup "DSDPlus Fast Lane" so it's able to monitor all the systems you wish to record.
- In DSDPlus you need to enable "Per-Call Recording (mp3)", "Add Talkgroup Aliases to Per-Call Filenames", and "Add Radio Aliases to Per-Call Filenames". (Via the GUI or editing your batch file)
- Install Trunking Recorder.
- Start Trunking Recorder.
- Click the "File" menu item at the top of the Trunking Recorder window and then select the "Configure" option.
- Click the "Call Import" tab.
- Check the "Enable DSDPlus call recordings import" checkbox.
- Set the DSDPlus "recordings" folder path. If you run multiple copies of DSDPlus you would enter in the common base folder Example: "C:\Downloads\DSDPlus\". Trunking Recorder will automatically find the subfolders and import the recorded calls.
- Click the "Save" button.
- Click the "Start Recording" button if not automatically started.
